Fun with paint

While searching several different blogs on the internet, we found a new exciting way to explore and apply paint.  We stretched elastics across foam trays that had a piece of paper inside.  Students painted the elastics, and then pulled on the elastic band and let go.  The paint sprayed across their paper!!

The students noticed that if they pulled the elastic higher the paint would spread farther.

Some students painted the paper first, then painted and pulled the elastic at different heights and speed to see what colours they could make.

Other students experimented with the amount of paint they would paint on the elastic to see how it would spray across the page.

It was exciting to see all of the different ways they experimented with this art.
