September was a busy month.

September was a busy month getting to know our new friends in the class, welcoming back our friends from last year and getting back to the routines of school. We are very proud of all the children and how they have adjusted to school. We wanted to thank our SK's for the help and guidance they gave our new JK and SK friends.

This student helped build a stage, then he performed a song for us.

The sand table was a popular place to explore.
We are very lucky to have classroom computer.

This student helped us sort out all the food and dishes in our Drama Centre.

Mrs. DeYoung brought in some old cameras for the drama centre.

We are excited to have our own listening centre this year.

Last year we collected several items for our drama centre that all the students continue to enjoy. We welcome any dress clothes to add to our collection.

Block Centre
This student worked the entire activity time building his castle. He was so proud of his work, he made a stop sign so he could work on it later on in the day.
 Team Work

A group of students worked together to build a ramp for the cars and trucks in the classroom. They worked together to solve several structure problems; such as the ramp falling, the cars moving too slow or too fast and the large blocks falling over. At the end of this centre time, they decided to put a stop sign on their work as well because they wanted to figure out how to stop the cars from going too fast and losing them under tables and shelves.

Mrs. Fanelli; another FDL Teacher;  had a awesome idea of putting different materials for the children to cut. Mrs. Olafson decided to use her idea. This is a great fine motor activity and a way for us to assess the children's cutting skills.
